| 1.
Open the image that requires the fairy dust treatment. |

| 2.
Using the Vignette Trick; blur
the edges of your photo . Use a big value for the Feather
(90) |

3.
On a new layer  ,
Draw small areas with a soft edge paintbrush  .
4. Select the layer by holding the Control
Button and clicking on the image in the layers menu.
5. Click on the eye to make this layer invisible.
(In
Photoshop, you could use a Mask instead) |

6.
Select the painted layer (CTRL+CLICK) Animated
example, and Feather (CTRL+ALT+D)
your selection (Once again use a big value).

7. Modify the Curve (CTRL+M)
to something like this.
You
can replace this step by modifying the Brightness/Contrast
(Bright=50/Cont=40). |

8.
Bring up the Hue/Saturation Menu (CTRL+U).
Then decrease the Hue by (-10 or more) and increase the Saturation
(±25).
9. At this point you could also modify the curve
again to get more highlights. |
