Frames with Masks

1. On a new layer, create a box that will define your frame using the Rectangular Marquee Tool and switch to Quick Mask Mode .

You can get the same result by using the Layer Mask.

2. Remove bits and pieces using a soft-edge eraser or Blur the frame using the Gaussian Blur.

... you should get something similar to this.

3. Apply one or many filters to create a unique border.

4. Go back to Standard Mode .

5. Invert the selection (CTRL+SHIFT+I).

6. Delete the selection.
