Animated Gifs (a quick tutorial)

1. In Photoshop, duplicate and rotate (or resize) the moving elements. It easier if you leave the static image on its own layer.

2. Switch to ImageReady (CTRL+SHIFT+M)

3. Make sure only the first image is visible (on the Layer menu) on frame one.

4. Press the Duplicate button (in red) to create a new frame, select the second frame and change the visible image on the Layer menu. [Repeat]

5. Hit play to preview your animation.

The Tween button (in green) will create "in betweens" for your animation.

You can change the duration for each frame by clicking on the Frame Delay button.

6. Click on the 4-Up tab on the preview menu to tweak the colors and resolution of your final image.

7. >File>Save Optimized As... to save your Animated Gif.
