Infrared Photography Effect

Open your image. |

You may want to boost the saturation by a notch
for a more impressive effect. |

For a more dramatic effect, darken the dark tones. |

To get a good looking Infrared effect you simply need to play
with the Channel Mixer with a few rules in
mind.
- My
normal setting is 200 for the Red Channel and a total of -100
for the Green and Blue Channels. Remember to keep the blues
fairly dark and the greens light for a realistic effect.
- The
three channel values should add up to 100 to keep the contrast.

5.
Create a duplicate of your image. |

6.
Blur the upper layer using >Filter>Gaussian
Blur.
7.
Hit "D" to reset your Foreground
and background colors.
8.
Add >Filter>Distort>Diffuse.

Reduce the layer opacity (?)
to 60%.
